Tarangire National Park is the sixth largest national park in Tanzania and is best between July and December when large numbers of elephant and other animals migrate there from Lake Manyara. The park is famous for huge baobab trees, and tree climbing pythons. Tarangire National Park covers 2,850 sq miles and is thick bush. Tarangire rivals the Serengeti in its great number and diversity of wildlife. It is a good choice for travellers who wish to encounter more animals and less tourists while on safari. The Tarangire National Park is known for large herds of elephant; a wonderful birding destination and also features large numbers of game. Tarangire River is the only source of water in the area. The landscape is of particular interest too, due to the high number of scenic baobab trees.
